Schedule Day shift, 3x12.0 hours. Job Description The Respiratory Therapist provides quality patient care, delivering intensive respiratory care and patient transport as medically prescribed, and within the scope of their professional license. This role requires minimal supervision and includes evaluating patients to recommend treatment plans, explaining procedures, and providing education during discharge. Responsibilities Conduct physician-prescribed treatments using ventilatory equipment, oxygen and aerosol devices, and nebulizer devices. Perform chest physiotherapy and suctioning by various methods (oropharyngeal, nasal, and tracheal). Monitor patients using oximetry and capnography, and review chest x-rays for evaluations. Conduct pulmonary function studies and assist with procedures related to respiratory care. Perform tracheostomy care, including insertion and removal of tracheostomy tubes. Undertake arterial punctures and monitor ventilation efficiency, recording, and reporting test results. Familiarize with laboratory testing policies, specimen handling, and quality control. Execute CPR according to BLS and ACLS guidelines. Manage mechanical ventilation equipment, including setup, maintenance, and monitoring. Document all pertinent information of treatments and patient responses accurately. Communicate with physicians regarding therapy efficiency and participate in shift-to-shift communication during walking rounds.
