Description :
We are looking for a Nuclear Medicine Technologist for a schedule of Monday to Friday from 6 : 30 AM to 3 : 00 PM with rotating call every third weekend on Saturday from 7 : 00 AM to Noon.
The technologist will perform Nuclear Medicine procedures and related techniques to produce diagnostic images for physician interpretation.
They will prepare patients for procedures, ensuring that patients meet requirements.
Providing instruction is essential to obtain desired results, gain cooperation, and minimize anxiety.
The role involves applying principles of Nuclear Medicine safety to minimize risk to the patient and others.
The technologist will operate nuclear medicine equipment and associated devices to achieve desired outcomes.
Positioning patients and equipment appropriately to demonstrate the anatomic area of interest is crucial while respecting patient safety and comfort.
Patients may need to be immobilized as required for appropriate examinations.
Selecting appropriate parameters is important, considering established protocols and factors influencing data acquisition.
The technologist will perform venipuncture and maintain venous access as needed.
They will prepare and administer radioactive isotopes, ensuring the correct isotope and dose is used.
Assistance with medical record and image sharing as necessary will be part of the responsibilities.
Evaluating images and data for technical quality is essential.
They will report and document Nuclear Medicine safety incidents per protocol.
Manipulating and processing digital data for display while ensuring proper identification is evident is required.
Utilizing radiology information systems is part of the role, which includes completing records and submitting images for physician review and interpretation.
Appropriate scripting, barriers, and patient identifiers must be utilized.
The technologist will document all information pertinent to the nuclear medicine procedure in the electronic medical record, including medication reconciliation.
Ensuring that patients receive discharge information regarding their exam is vital.
Ordering radiopharmaceuticals through vendor-specific protocols will be necessary.
Assistance with PET services may be needed as required.
Holiday coverage will be expected.
