About The Role

HP IQ's Wireless Engineering team is seeking a Software Engineer with deep expertise in Wi‑Fi standards and wireless software stack development. The ideal candidate will bring strong knowledge of lower‑layer protocols and hands‑on experience developing, integrating, and optimizing wireless software to deliver industry‑leading connectivity performance and user experiences. You will work at the intersection of Wi‑Fi, Bluetooth, and emerging device‑to‑device transport technologies, tackling complex challenges in performance, reliability, and low‑latency communication. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to cutting‑edge innovations that are redefining how people and devices seamlessly connect across the modern enterprise.

What You Might Do

• Design, develop, and integrate wireless software features across Android, Windows, and embedded platforms, including SDKs, frameworks, and system services.
• Implement, optimize, and tune wireless networking protocols with a focus on enterprise‑scale architectures and deployments.
• Design, implement, and troubleshoot peer‑to‑peer technologies—such as Wi‑Fi Direct and Wi‑Fi Aware—to deliver secure, reliable, and low‑latency connectivity across diverse networking scenarios.
• Collaborate closely with wireless chipset vendors, industry partners, and internal engineering teams to align designs, debug system‑level issues, and optimize end‑to‑end wireless performance.
• Analyze and troubleshoot complex wireless behavior including performance degradation, QoS bottlenecks, interoperability issues, and security constraints in large‑scale networks.

$140,000 – $225,000
