The VA North Texas Health Care System, Dallas, Texas is currently recruiting for a Podiatrist (Section Chief-Ambulatory Care Service). The Section Chief will lead health care professionals to provide primary care to Veteran patients.

The Section Chief is assigned to the Associate Chief of Staff, Ambulatory Care Service will be responsible for the overall day-to-day supervision of his / her assigned primary care providers. He / she will be required to travel between Community Based Outpatient Clinics under this section; as needed and will supervisor one or more CBOC's.The Podiatrist (PACT) is accountable for adhering to established policies and standards of care / practice in evaluating, tracking, and following up on patient care. The Podiatrist collaborates with health care professionals to provide longitudinal case management of the PCP's entire PACT panel with independent care delivery for acute / same-day needs or when otherwise requested by the PCP.Duties / Responsibilities :
Work Schedule : Monday - Friday (8 : 00 a.m. - 4 : 30 p.m.)

Basic Requirements
Approved residencies are : (1) Those approved by the accrediting bodies for graduate medical education, the Council on Podiatric Medical Education, in the list published for the year the residency was completed, or
Preferred Experience :
References : VA Regulations, specifically VA Handbook 5005, Part II, Appendix G-4 Podiatrist Qualification Standard.
Physical Requirements : Moderate lifting (15-44 pounds), light carrying (under 15 pounds), straight pulling, pushing, reaching above shoulder, use of fingers, walking, standing, kneeling, repeated bending, ability for rapid mental and muscular coordination simultaneously, near vision correctable (at 13" to 16" to jaeger 1 to 4), far vision correctable ( in one eye to 20 / 20 and to 20 / 40 in the other), hearing (aid permitted), emotional and mental stability, and clear speech.
Education
Applicants must possess a doctor of podiatric medicine degree, or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in podiatric medicine and surgery. The degree must have been obtained from an institution whose accreditation was in place for the year in which the course of study was completed.
