Job Summary : Responsible for performing eye-related clinical tasks that provide information for the doctors to accurately evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients.
Working Hours : Monday through Friday. 8 : 00 am – 5 pm. Periodically from 8 : 00 am – 12 : 00 pm on Saturdays.
Minimum and Preferred Qualifications :
- High school diploma or equivalent
- One or more years experience in a medical practice
- Ability to work at any office as assigned

Skilled at utilizing all assigned clinical equipmentUses EMR to interview and intake an accurate summary of the chief complaint, history of present illness, past history (ocular and general), family history (ocular and general), and history of allergies and medications.Performs preliminary evaluations that include visual acuity, evaluation of motility, pupil assessment, angle assessment, confrontational visual field, applanation tonometry, manual refraction, dilation of pupilsPerforms manual lensometry to determine prescription in existing glassesPerforms stereo testing and color plates for all new patientsPerforms contact lens evaluation with keratometryPerforms special testing using the visual fields machine, OCT machine, external and internal camera, topographer, biometer,and pachymeterAccurately enters all necessary data into the EMRMaintains sanitary conditions in exam roomsParticipates in opening and closing duties as assignedParticipates in semi-annual competency checksPerforms duties of a clinical assistant / scribe as assignedEquipment Operated : Various ophthalmic testing equipment. Standard office equipment including computers, fax machines, copiers, printers, telephones, etc.
Work Environment : Frequent mobility and / or sitting required for extended periods of time. Manual dexterity for using a computer keyboard. Some bending and stooping required.
Mental / Physical Requirements : Work is performed in a busy office environment and requires both desk and counter work. Frequent contact with employees and patients.
