A&M Technologies, Inc. has an opening for a Tier II Network Technician to support the customer’s computer data communications systems, in providing design specifications, testing and inspections for computer networks; plan and implementing upgrades; as well as, analyzing and organizing corresponding hardware and software combined solutions through network modeling.
The job duties of the Tier II Network Technician are as follows :
- The Tier II network field technician will support the installation and maintenance of the client LAN / WAN devices.
- Respond to and resolve incidents, demonstrate troubleshooting skills and communicate with the team.
- Complete assigned tasks within Service Level Objectives / Agreements (SLOs / SLAs).
- Draft and implement standard network change requests.
- Provide support to Tier III network engineers for incident management and projects (site surveys, TEMS, coordinate and install new equipment).
- Perform configuration management functions such as update topology drawings, ensure asset management records are accurate, and conduct inventory.
- Coordinate network operations, maintenance, repairs, or upgrades. (Knowledge of CISCO / Juniper RMA process).
- Layer 1 network experience (CAT5 / 6, SM / MM Fiber, Serial cables, SFP).
Layer 2 network experience (ability to configure / troubleshoot switches / routers, MAC addresses, VLANs, port security, applying thin and thick configs.
Layer 3 network experience (subnetting, familiar with protocols such as OSPF, BGP, HSRP, MPLS, LSP, GRE) Configure and troubleshoot layer 2 switching (VLAN’s, Port Security, Thin Configs). Perform IOS upgrades for Cisco, Juniper, Brocade and Foundry OS. Experience with Visio.Familiar with ServiceNow and Confluence.May have up to 10% COMSEC responsibilities based on site and team needs.Requirements Required Clearance :
TS SCI CI Poly Candidate must have 10 years of experience that can be a combination of work history and education.This equates to a Doctorate and 3 years, master’s and 4 years, bachelor’s and 6 years, associates and 8 years or HS diploma and 10 years.Additional required qualifications include :
Compliance with Department of Defense (DoD) 8140 Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level 2.Additional required qualifications include :
