Job Title : CT Technologist I Profession : Clinical Technician Specialty : - Duration : 13 weeks Shift : Nights M / T / W Hours per Shift : 12 Experience : Entry-level License : CT Certification eligibility requirements needed within 12 months of hire date Certifications : AHA BLS Must-Have : - Graduate of a CAAHEP accredited educational program with emphasis in a primary cardiovascular specialty or a JRCERT accredited educational program with emphasis in a radiologic technology specialty. - Core knowledge and understanding of normal and abnormal anatomy and physiology, cardiovascular and / or radiologic technologies and terminology. - Ability to work as part of a team and follow instructions. - Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and other healthcare team members. Description : Under immediate to general supervision and direction of a mentor / preceptor, this entry-level position works to achieve the initial competencies required to deliver specialized cardiovascular and / or radiologic technology services to adult and / or pediatric patient populations. The purpose is to aid medical staff in the diagnosis, care, treatment, and surveillance of simple to complex conditions, defects, and / or diseases. Utilizing entry-level knowledge and skills, provides safe, high-quality, efficient, and cost-effective patient-centric care and support services under routine or emergent conditions. Prepares patients for procedures and correlates clinical history with procedures ordered by physicians. Communicates and collaborates with patients, families, and other members of the multidisciplinary care team to achieve clinical outcomes, operational goals, and service expectations. Utilizes a variety of highly specialized cardiovascular and / or radiologic equipment and techniques to perform a diverse range of diagnostic, interventional, and / or surgical procedures. Conducts post-procedure reviews with or without a preceptor to confirm that all required elements are completed and documented. Transfers images and data to the appropriate archival systems, enters technical data / findings, and prepares the study for reporting by physicians. Performs operator-level quality control checks, cleaning, high-level disinfecting, and other user maintenance per manufacturer instructions for use and regulatory guidelines. Participates in continuing education, professional development, and research activities to maintain competencies and promote continuous improvements in care and treatments. Displays a high level of initiative, effort, and commitment toward completing assignments efficiently while maintaining attention to detail.
