Overview
Convergint is looking for a full-time, enthusiastic, results driven and forward-thinking Fire Alarm Project Technician to join our amazing culture. In this role, you will install, program, perform system start-up / check-out, testing / commissioning, customer training and all associated documentation on assigned installation projects including more complex projects. - Installs, programs, test, repairs, and services a variety of systems and equipment which may include security, fire alarm & life safety, and / or building automation with guidance as Colleague is key interface for the provision of technical support and training for the customer and as such is accountable for maximizing customer satisfaction. Refers more complex issues to higher level colleagues.
- Working knowledge of blueprints, schematics, manuals, and other specifications to determine installation procedures unassisted, may require assistance with more complex
- Interprets manuals, schematics, and wiring diagrams, and repairs equipment, utilizing knowledge of electronics and using standard test instruments and hand
- Working understanding of building, mechanical, sprinkler and fire

- Operates systems to demonstrate equipment, commission new systems, analyze performance and identify malfunctions. Writes routine programs for

Consult with engineering personnel to resolve unusual problems in system operation, maintenance, and warrantyMay advise management regarding customer satisfaction, product performance, installation techniques and standards as well as suggestions for productExecutes many of the technical aspects of multiple projects with varying timelines and budgets including, programming, graphics development, start-up, certification testing, customer training, close-out documentation, and on-going technical supportIdentifies potential project risks, communicates to appropriate parties and assist in the development and implementation of strategies to minimize impact and to control deviations from estimated costs and projectWorks with Fire Alarm Designer to ensure fire alarm system meets all relevant codes and standards.Works closely with the Project Manager and / or Operations Manager and assists in the overall coordination of specific projects; makes recommendations regarding quality of work and potential changes in scope and identifies ways to continuously improve customer experiencePerforms other duties and responsibilities as requested orWhat You'll Need
Exceptional customer focus and ability to work under pressure; ability to maintain awareness of and seek to meet the needs and wants of the customer without being prompted.Ability to convey complex subject matter to a non-technical audienceWilling to learn technical skills and / or experience related to fire alarm systems, and / or electronic securityTo be a self-starter and work well with little supervisionUnderstanding of electronics to include Ohm's law, resistor color code, and relay logic for control of third-party equipment.Solid mechanical and electrical aptitude (e.g. works with a variety of hand and power tools such as drill, screwdriver, wire stripper, hacksaw, crimper).Experience programming, troubleshooting, and commissioning Edwards or equivalent fire alarm systems of small to mediumTo be driven to achieve necessary certifications / licensing related to products, industry, and city / state.Willingness to coach and mentor less experiencedA valid driver's license with a clean driving recordPossess NICET Level II in Fire AlarmPossess low voltage electrical license as required by local / stateAbility to travel locally to jobsites on a regular basis. Education : High School / GED or equivalent experience
Licenses & Certifications :
