Job Summary

The Clinical Director / Lead Therapist plays a vital role in providing mental health services to individuals, families, and groups. The Clinical Director will possess a strong knowledge and understanding of integrative modalities. This position involves assessing clients needs, developing treatment plans, and implementing therapeutic interventions to promote emotional well-being and trauma recovery. The Clinical Director will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive care and support for clients.

Clinical Oversight & Supervision :

Provide clinical supervision and guidance to therapists, case managers, and other clinical staff.
Oversee clinical programming, including development and implementation of treatment plans.
Ensure adherence to best practices in trauma-informed care, evidence-based modalities (e.g., DBT, ACT, CBT, IFS), and individualized client treatment.
Facilitate weekly clinical staff meetings, case consultations, and ongoing professional development.
Review and approve clinical documentation and treatment plans for compliance and quality.
Help develop and coordinate psychology internship program

Administrative Duties :

Collaborate with executive leadership to ensure program effectiveness and growth.

Contribute to updating policies, procedures, and workflows to meet state and JCAHO requirements.

Monitor utilization review, quality improvement activities, and incident reporting.

Participate in audits and site visits from licensing bodies and JCAHO.

Assist with hiring, onboarding, and evaluating clinical staff performance.

Participate in business development ventures as needed.

Direct Client Care :

Provide individual, family, and group therapy within the IOP / PHP setting.

Conduct biopsychosocial assessments and contribute to treatment planning.

Maintain a clinical caseload while managing administrative responsibilities.

Participate in crisis intervention and clinical risk management as needed.

Compliance & Documentation :

Ensure all clinical documentation is accurate, timely, and compliant with AZ licensing regulations and JCAHO standards.

Stay up to date with changes in state and federal regulations affecting clinical practices.

Qualifications :

Master’s or Doctorate degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or a related field.

Minimum 5 years of clinical experience in behavioral health, with 3 years in a leadership or supervisory role .

Experience in IOP / PHP settings and trauma-informed care is strongly preferred.

Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

Ability to manage clinical and administrative responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Skills and Competencies :

Training in evidence-based practices such as DBT, EMDR, ACT, or IFS.

Willingness to learn and grow in somatic experiencing and neurotechnology interventions.

Strong understanding of co-occurring disorders (mental health and substance use).

Experience working with diverse populations, including LGBTQIA+ and BIPOC communities.
