Job Summary

The Clinical Director / Lead Therapist plays a vital role in providing mental health services to individuals, families, and groups. The Clinical Director will possess a strong knowledge and understanding of integrative modalities. This position involves assessing clients needs, developing treatment plans, and implementing therapeutic interventions to promote emotional well-being and trauma recovery. The Clinical Director will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive care and support for clients.

Clinical Oversight & Supervision :

  • Provide clinical supervision and guidance to therapists, case managers, and other clinical staff.
  • Oversee clinical programming, including development and implementation of treatment plans.
  • Ensure adherence to best practices in trauma-informed care, evidence-based modalities (e.g., DBT, ACT, CBT, IFS), and individualized client treatment.
  • Facilitate weekly clinical staff meetings, case consultations, and ongoing professional development.
  • Review and approve clinical documentation and treatment plans for compliance and quality.
  • Help develop and coordinate psychology internship program

Administrative Duties :

  • Collaborate with executive leadership to ensure program effectiveness and growth.
  • Contribute to updating policies, procedures, and workflows to meet state and JCAHO requirements.
  • Monitor utilization review, quality improvement activities, and incident reporting.
  • Participate in audits and site visits from licensing bodies and JCAHO.
  • Assist with hiring, onboarding, and evaluating clinical staff performance.
  • Participate in business development ventures as needed.
  • Direct Client Care :

  • Provide individual, family, and group therapy within the IOP / PHP setting.
  • Conduct biopsychosocial assessments and contribute to treatment planning.
  • Maintain a clinical caseload while managing administrative responsibilities.
  • Participate in crisis intervention and clinical risk management as needed.
  • Compliance & Documentation :

  • Ensure all clinical documentation is accurate, timely, and compliant with AZ licensing regulations and JCAHO standards.
  • Stay up to date with changes in state and federal regulations affecting clinical practices.
  • Qualifications :

  • Master’s or Doctorate degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of clinical experience in behavioral health, with 3 years in a leadership or supervisory role .
  • Experience in IOP / PHP settings and trauma-informed care is strongly preferred.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage clinical and administrative responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Preferred Skills and Competencies :

  • Training in evidence-based practices such as DBT, EMDR, ACT, or IFS.
  • Willingness to learn and grow in somatic experiencing and neurotechnology interventions.
  • Strong understanding of co-occurring disorders (mental health and substance use).
  • Experience working with diverse populations, including LGBTQIA+ and BIPOC communities.
