Duration : 13 Weeks

Shift : Nights, 3x12s (7 : 00 PM – 7 : 30 AM)

Schedule : Every other weekend & holiday rotation (if applicable during assignment)

Floating : House-wide if not needed in ICU

🩺 Job Description

The CVICU Registered Nurse is responsible for delivering high-quality, compassionate care to critically ill cardiovascular patients. The RN utilizes advanced clinical judgment, knowledge of specialized equipment, and evidence-based practices to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care. Adherence to the ANA Code of Ethics and Ohio Nurse Practice Act is required. Care is patient- and family-centered, age-appropriate, and culturally sensitive.

🏨 Unit Overview – CVICU

28-bed cardiovascular intensive care unit

Fast-paced environment specializing in :

Open heart surgery

Heart transplants

Ventricular assist device (VAD) implantation

Acute cardiology and heart failure management

Patient care includes :

Post-operative recovery

Inotropic support

Temporary & permanent ventricular assist devices

Hemodynamic monitoring

Impella, IABP, ECMO, C-Mag

CRRT and ultrafiltration

Strong interdisciplinary support and leadership

Nationally recognized standards of care with focus on patient outcomes and safety

✅ Requirements

Required Experience :

Minimum 2 years of ICU experience

Preferred Experience :

CVICU, MICU, or SICU

Certifications :

Required : BLS, ACLS (AHA)

Preferred : NIHSS
