Cardiac Stepdown RN Job Details Location : Peoria, IL 61637 (Central Illinois healthcare jobs) Facility Setting : Acute Care – Cardiac Stepdown Unit (20 beds, private and semi-private rooms) Position Type : Travel Registered Nurse (RN) Shift : 12-hour nights (7pm–7am) Weekly Hours : 36 hours guaranteed Assignment Length : 13 weeks (October 5, 2025 – January 4, 2026) Weekend / Holiday : Every other weekend and holiday rotation Charting System : EPIC EMR Estimated Weekly Salary : $1,990 - $2,130 Registered Nurse Qualifications Active Illinois RN license or proof of application (required for Peoria nursing jobs) Minimum 1 year of recent ICU or Intermediate / Stepdown nursing experience (nurse-to-patient ratio 3 : 1 or 2 : 1) Experience with trach and ventilated patients BLS certification (AHA) required ACLS certification preferred Proficiency in titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips Negative drug screen required (OSF is a drug-free campus) Cardiac Stepdown RN Responsibilities Deliver high-quality nursing care to patients with cardiac, respiratory, neuro, and surgical diagnoses Manage and titrate cardiac drips including Cardene, Cardizem, Amiodarone, Dobutamine, Heparin, and Vasopressors Care for patients with tracheostomies, ventilators, chest tubes, g-tubes, NG tubes, PICC lines, and central lines Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams (charge nurses, patient care techs, tele / monitor techs) Float to ICU, other Stepdown, or General Medicine units as needed Participate in unit orientation and ongoing professional development Comply with hospital policies, dress code (any color scrubs), and documentation standards Apply now to join our dedicated healthcare team in Peoria, IL, and take the next step in your travel nursing career!
