The Transportation Driver is responsible for transporting patients and / or equipment to and from various outside appointments, clinics, nursing facilities, hospitals, or other ancillary locations via hospital-owned vehicle. This position must i ntegrate company values into daily practice.

Pay Rate : $18-$20 per hour

Weekend availability required

Essential Functions :

• Transports patients in a safe and professional manner
• Assures vehicles are clean and in working order. Responsible for cleaning of inside of van utilizing appropriate chemicals between patients.
• Communicates with various hospital staff in order to receive relevant data and instructions.
• Inspects vehicle prior to daily vehicle usage for safe and comfortable patient transport. Reports vehicle concerns timely.
• Assists with transferring and balancing patients. Ensures patients' physical and overall comfort.
• Follows all patient safety and vehicle safety requirements. Responsible for knowing what PPE to apply to patient and driver prior to transport.
• Notifies proper staff regarding changes in condition or behavior of patient.
• May be required to work during inclement weather and other staffing emergencies.
• Provides an environment conducive to safety for patients, visitors, and staff. Assesses the risks for safety and implements appropriate precautions. Complies with appropriate and approved safety and Infection Prevention standards.
• Maintains regular attendance in keeping with assigned work schedule.
• Performs other duties as assigned to support overall effectiveness of the organization.
