You will serve as the Executive Director and senior civilian of the Naval Special Warfare Command (NSWC), an Echelon II major claimant and the Naval Component of the United States Special Operations Command (USSOCOM). Naval Special Warfare (NSW) provides maritime Special Operations Forces (SOF) capability to enable Joint Force lethality and survivability inside denied and contested areas.
Responsibilities
- You will focus on the executive direction of the command, and you will be delegated authority to act for the Commander, Naval Special Warfare Command, in their absence, except in those areas of command that are inherently military
- You will collaborate with the Commander to develop objectives and goals necessary to meet current and future mission strategy, including complex operational and multi-national planning goals, and guide strategic and operational planning process.
- You will fully participate in line management decisions; provide continuity and corporate memory for long-term commitments, policies, practices, and processes; and facilitate a stable continuing policy focus for NSW.
- You will direct major command efforts and initiatives, which often center around the development and sustainment of the infrastructure necessary to meet the current and ever-increasing demands on NSW Forces.
- You will make and adjust critical resource decisions to support operational goals and business requirements, and you will formulate NSW’s position on a broad range of managerial, operational, organizational, budgetary, and command issues.
