Forensic Accountant
Eagle Harbor is looking for a Forensic Accountant to join our team supporting our customer in Arlington, VA. Responsibilities include providing extensive knowledge regarding accounting and financial practices, serving as a forensic accountant and authority in the identification, examination, and analysis of financial data, assessing the value of financial evidence, unraveling sophisticated techniques for moving funds and shielding illegal activity, utilizing various computer applications to review and interpret implications on a vast number and variety of financial transactions, producing in-depth financial investigative reports and exhibits, developing and providing forensic accounting presentations / briefings, maintaining appropriate contacts in law enforcement, private industry, and other government agencies to advance investigations and to share best practices, providing authoritative expertise regarding accounting and financial practices, providing analytical support and case assessments to agency priority investigations, processing and organizing data obtained by the field to provide support for executing seizure warrants on said assets, providing expertise in international banking, correspondent banking, and international wire transfers, documenting the results of their analysis in agency reports and providing briefings to the investigative team on the conclusions, assisting in the location and repatriation of assets that are subject to forfeiture, and assisting special agents with the preparation of affidavits in support of asset seizure.
Requirements
US Citizen, Ability to pass a pre-employment background check, Ability to pass Agency Clearance, Bachelor's degree with field of major study in finance, business administration, economics, accounting, mathematics, or another related field, Minimum of two years' specialized experience working in the field of forensic accounting.
Qualifications
Ability to organize and conduct detailed examinations of information generated during complex criminal / civil investigations and information available through alternative sources, for the purpose of conducting financial analyses of personal / business assets of targeted organizations / individuals, Using information obtained as a result of the financial analysis to prepare documentation for use by law enforcement personnel pursuing civil and criminal matters, Strong oral and written communication skills, Experience in the areas of planning, conducting and participating in complex investigations in a specialized area of expertise such as prosecution, forfeiture, organized crime, drug, money laundering, or similar area of criminal activity, Demonstrated experience using Microsoft Office Suite programs (Access, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).
Position is in Arlington, VA. This position is on site 5 days a week - there is no remote work.
