Job Description

Sr. Data Engineer, Archer Daniels Midland Company, Erlanger, KY. Design, build, refactor, and maintain data pipelines to meet business requirements for reporting, analysis, and data science. Teach, adhere to, and contribute to DataOps and MLOps standards and best practices and continuously improve and accelerate data system performance. Design and integrate fault tolerance and enhancements into data pipelines to improve quality and performance. Perform root cause analysis and solve problems using analytical and technical skills to optimize data delivery and reduce costs. Engage business end users and shares responsibility leading a delivery team. Mentor junior Data Engineers.

Telecommuting permitted on a hybrid schedule as determined by the employer. 40 hrs / week, Mon-Fri, 8 : 30 a.m. 5 : 30 p.m. Up to 10% domestic travel required.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, refactor, and maintain data pipelines to meet reporting, analysis, and data science needs.
  • Contribute to DataOps and MLOps standards and continuously improve data system performance.
  • Incorporate fault tolerance and enhancements to improve data quality and performance.
  • Perform root cause analysis and solve problems to optimize data delivery and reduce costs.
  • Engage business end users and share responsibility in leading a delivery team.
  • Mentor junior Data Engineers.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree or foreign equivalent in Engineering, Information Technology, Business, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field, plus five (5) years of post-bachelors progressive related work experience.
  • Experience with in at least three of the following : Microsoft Azure, SQL, Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse, Databricks, Python, PySpark, SAP Datasphere, Power BI, or other cloud-based data systems.
  • Data engineering experience; Azure DevOps, GitHub, and CI / CD; database storage systems (cloud, relational, mainframe, data lake, data warehouse); building cloud ETL pipelines using code or ETL platforms; data warehousing concepts and agile methodology; and designing and coding data manipulations for large, disconnected datasets.
  • Travel and Schedule

  • Telecommuting permitted on a hybrid schedule as determined by the employer.
