Who We Are

Backyard Bagel started January 2023 with the goal to make Seattle a bagel city. We are a small shop, but growing quickly and are looking to hire folks that share our passion for bagels. We opened a shop in Fremont last summer, with another on the way in Laurelhurst. This position is to bake for our wholesale customers, catering, and farmers markets.

What You'll Do

You ll join a small baking team making bagels for retail and wholesale customers.

Responsibilities

Baking hundreds of bagels daily.

Mixing and rolling bagels based on our forecasted demand.

Communicate efficiently.

Find areas for improvement in our processes.

Training new employees as the team grows.

Doing prep work as needed.

Maintaining a clean and sanitary work environment.

Who You Are

We're looking for someone who meets the minimum requirements to be considered for the role. If you meet these requirements, you are encouraged to apply. The preferred qualifications are a bonus, not a requirement.

Minimum Requirements

You have at least 2 years of commercial baking experience and understand how to work with yeasted artisanal doughs.

You've worked in a high volume bakery before

You're passionate about baking, and like bagels.

You can lift 50lbs multiple times a day

Wed / Thur / Fri minimum availability. Potential additional shift on Sunday afternoon.

Pay and Benefits

The hourly wage for this position is $ plus a tip distribution.
