Fabricator II, HVAC Sheet Metal Shop

Description : We are seeking a seasoned, driven Fabricator II with a solid foundation in fabrication techniques and TIG Welding to join our shop team. The ideal individual will assist the Shop Supervisor with the fabrication and assembly of sheet metal ductwork and HVAC system components and have the ability to handle more advanced tasks independently. This role involves physical labor, use of hand and power tools, and adherence to safety and quality standards on residential and commercial job sites.Key Responsibilities : Sheet Metal Layout & Forming : layout patterns using both manual and CNC methodsPrecision Measurement : use measuring tape, calipers, micrometers, protractors, and other measuring tools to check accuracyCut, Bend, and Shape Sheet Metal : operate tools and heavy equipment to measure, cut, and assemble sheet metal ductwork and related components including using TIG welding techniquesSafety : follow safety procedures and use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE)General Labor & Support : perform general labor and support tasks as directed by the Shop Supervisor, maintaining cleanliness and organization of work areasRequirements : 2+ years of Fabrication and TIG welding experienceExperience in HVAC, sheet metal, or general construction is a plus, but not requiredAbility to accurately read and use a measuring tape for precise layout and fabrication workAdvanced knowledge of tools and measuring techniquesAbility to lift up to 50lbs and work on ladders or in confined spacesMust have reliable transportation and a clean driving record to travel to multiple job sitesMust own standard industry hand tools.Commitment to safety protocols and teamworkStrong verbal communication skills for interacting with clients, vendors, contractors, and internal team membersWillingness to take direction in a fast-paced environment and mentor team membersSalary : Depends on experiencePerformance bonusBenefits : 401(k) matchingHealth insuranceDental insuranceVision insuranceLife insurancePaid time offBonus opportunitiesABOUT US : Founded in 2004, Thomas Mechanical & Fire Protection is an independently owned, full-service mechanical contractor focused on delivering turnkey HVAC and fire sprinkler systems to a strong base of commercial and industrial customers.
