As the Aquatics Coordinator you will play a key leadership role in strengthening our swim lesson program supporting staff development and ensuring a high-quality experience for members of all ages.
Key Responsibilities
Provide direction scheduling and supervision for all swim lesson programs
Develop and expand aquatics programs and services based on community needs
Strengthen partnerships to position the Y as a trusted aquatic resource
Recruit hire train schedule and supervise lifeguards and swim instructors
Lead monthly in-service trainings to ensure quality and safety
Oversee daily pool operations including equipment maintenance and water chemistry monitoring
Maintain accurate up-to-date records and ensure compliance with all state and local regulations
Conduct ongoing evaluation of staff programs and services with frequent check-ins
Attend weekly staff meetings and work closely with branch peers to elevate the Aquatics Department
Develop manage and monitor departmental budgets
Maintain the highest level of courtesy friendliness and service for members visitors and staff
Qualifications
Bachelors degree required
Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in aquatics or program leadership
Current Lifeguard or Swim Instructor certification
Strong understanding of public pool operations safety standards and regulatory compliance
Excellent communication and leadership skills
