About the Role

You’ll guide the use of machine learning to optimize processes, uncover insights, and enable smarter decisions across the R&D pipeline—from early discovery to late-stage development.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the identification, design, and delivery of machine learning solutions that address high-value challenges across R&D and scientific operations.
- Collaborate closely with research scientists, data engineers, and business stakeholders to translate scientific and operational needs into actionable ML projects.
- Evaluate and implement cutting-edge ML techniques (including deep learning, NLP, computer vision, and time series analysis) to advance modeling capabilities.
- Play an active role in technical mentorship and knowledge sharing, supporting the growth of AI capabilities across the organization.
- Establish strong internal relationships and contribute to cross-functional working groups, partnerships, and thought leadership efforts.
- Stay informed on emerging ML trends, evaluating their relevance to current and future strategies.
- Contribute to developing and maintaining ethical, transparent AI practices in collaboration with governance and compliance teams.
- Support external collaborations and represent the organization at industry events or forums.
What You’ll Bring
Education & Experience :Advanced degree (PhD or MS) in Machine Learning, Data Science, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field.6+ years of experience developing and deploying machine learning systems in real-world applications, ideally at scale.Technical Expertise :Demonstrated success in delivering end-to-end ML pipelines, from prototyping to production.Proficiency with deep learning architectures (e.g., Transformers, LSTMs, autoencoders) and traditional models (e.g., SVMs, decision trees, Bayesian networks).Skilled in fine-tuning large language models and developing transfer learning approaches for small or domain-specific datasets.Familiarity with multimodal learning, geometric deep learning, reinforcement learning, or similar advanced areas is highly desirable.Competent in ML Ops workflows including model monitoring, retraining strategies, and version control.Comfortable working across different environments—local, cloud, containerized—and with tools such as Git, CI / CD pipelines, and testing frameworks.Soft Skills & Mindset :Excellent communication skills, with an ability to simplify complex ideas for diverse audiences.Strong sense of curiosity and willingness to explore unfamiliar domains.Strategic thinker with the ability to link technical work to organizational goals.A collaborative spirit and a passion for mentoring peers and enabling others.Prior experience in health tech, life sciences, or highly regulated environments is an advantage, but not required.Salary & Benefits
