We’re expanding our Land Surveying Division and seeking a detail-oriented Assistant Surveyor to join our Folsom team. This role offers an opportunity to grow through multiple experience levels (I–VII).
Position Overview
The Assistant Surveyor supports survey operations by providing technical, mapping, and computational support under the supervision of senior survey staff. This is primarily an office-based position that works closely with field teams to ensure the accuracy and quality of deliverables across boundary, control, construction, and right-of-way surveys.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys the technical side of surveying and is eager to advance toward greater project responsibility.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the preparation of boundary, topographic, control, and construction surveys.
- Perform research, data verification, GPS post-processing, and mapping using AutoCAD Civil 3D and / or MicroStation.
- Assist with the preparation of records of survey, plats, deeds, and legal descriptions.
- Conduct construction calculations using trigonometry, geometry, and coordinate geometry.
- Organize and maintain electronic survey files and documentation.
- Collaborate with field crews and project surveyors to ensure data integrity and project efficiency.
- Participate in QA / QC reviews to ensure precision and compliance with R.E.Y. standards.
- Engage in ongoing learning and work toward obtaining LSIT certification (if not already held).
What We’re Looking For
Education & Experience
Experience in land surveying (office or field support).Preferred :Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Surveying, Geomatics, or Civil Engineering OR equivalent experience.
Technical Skills
Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and / or MicroStation.Understanding of surveying principles, coordinate systems, and datums.Familiarity with construction plans and staking concepts.Experience with survey data processing tools and Microsoft Office Suite.Professional Skills
Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities.Excellent written and verbal communication.Dependable, team-oriented, and eager to learn.Compensation and Benefits
