Position Summary :
As a cardiac Cath lab radiology technologist or Cath lab tech, duties are toprep and monitor a patient during cardiovascular imaging and invasive heart procedures. This procedure can be an angioplasty, an electrophysiology procedure, or involve hemodynamic monitoring.
Primary Responsibilities :
Operate digital radiological imaging equipment according to facility guidelines and policies.Oversee and perform quality control procedures on imaging equipment, ensuring optimal performance.Enforce and practice radiation safety principles to protect patients, visitors, and staff.Assist physicians during diagnostic and interventional procedures in the Cath Lab.Support nursing staff in preparing patients for procedures, including patient positioning and transport.Prepare and operate imaging and procedural equipment, ensuring all tools function correctly.Monitor and record hemodynamic data and perform related calculations as required.Document all digital processing and quality control activities in compliance with protocols.Participate in departmental and hospital-wide Performance Improvement initiatives.Assist with patient transport as needed.Participate in an on-call rotation as assigned.Additional Essential Functions :
Complete all assigned training, education, and competency evaluations by set deadlines.Maintain consistent and punctual attendance; participate in departmental meetings.Promote and follow a culture of safety; report all incidents promptly.Uphold the facility's Mission, Vision, Code of Conduct, and customer service standards.Comply with hospital, departmental, state, federal, and regulatory agency policies (OSHA, TJC, CMS, HIPAA).Provide professional, team-oriented service with a focus on internal and external customer satisfactionQualifications
Minimum Qualifications :
Required Certification :Registered Technologist - Radiography (ARRT)
Texas State Radiologic Technologist LicenseBasic Life Support (BLS) - within 30 days of hireAdvanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) - within 6 months of hirePreferred :Experience in cardiovascular interventional radiology or Cath Lab environment
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively with medical professionals.Proficiency in Radiology Information Systems (RIS) and Hospital Information Systems (HIS).Familiarity with CR and DR systems and computer-based imaging technologies.Demonstrates critical thinking and problem-solving in fast-paced clinical settings.
