Job Description

An Industrial engineering technician helps engineers improve manufacturing and production processes. They work on tasks like designing workflows, preparing equipment plans, conducting statistical studies, and analyzing production costs. They also may be involved in quality control, process improvement, and preparing technical documents.

Key Responsibilities :

• Process Improvement :

Analyzing current production processes, identifying bottlenecks, and suggesting improvements to increase efficiency and reduce costs.

Creating diagrams and plans for optimal workspace layout, material handling, and machine placement.

Gathering data on production processes through time studies, surveys, and observations, and analyzing it to identify areas for improvement.

Assisting in the design and planning of new equipment, processes, or production lines.

Preparing reports, drawings, diagrams, and other documents to support engineering projects and processes.

Assisting in the development and implementation of quality control procedures and standards.

Working with engineers, supervisors, and other staff to ensure smooth and efficient production.

Skills and Qualifications :

Knowledge of engineering principles, manufacturing processes, and quality control procedures.

Ability to collect, analyze, and interpret data to identify problems and solutions.

Ability to identify and resolve issues related to production processes and equipment.

Ability to effectively communicate technical information to others.

Importance of accuracy in data collection and documentation.

Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 4 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post- secondary / associate 's degree with 0 to 2 years of prior related experience
