We are seeking an experienced Compounding Pharmacist to join our client's team. This is a full-time position with a weekday schedule in a thriving compounding pharmacy practice which services several states in the region.
Hands on experience in both non-sterile and sterile compounding, including full understanding of USP 797, 800 and all other compliance standards. The individual in this role will be responsible for :
- Prepare a wide range of non-sterile compounded medications (e.g., creams, ointments, suspensions, capsules, suppositories) according to physician prescriptions and established formulas.
 - Prepare sterile compounded medications (e.g., ophthalmic preparations, injectables, intravenous admixtures) in a cleanroom environment, ensuring aseptic technique and compliance with USP
 
standards.
Accurately interpret and evaluate prescription orders for compounded medications, ensuring appropriateness of dosage, formulation, and stability.Perform all necessary calculations for compounding, including weight / volume measurements, concentration adjustments, and beyond-use dating.Maintain and document accurate compounding records, including formulation worksheets, raw material traceability, and quality control checks.Ensure strict adherence to USPand USP
guidelines for all sterile and hazardous drug compounding processes, including facility design, environmental monitoring, personnel garbing, and engineering controls.
Conduct routine cleaning and disinfection of compounding areas, including sterile environments (e.g., ISO Class 7 buffer areas, ISO Class 5 primary engineering controls).Participate in environmental monitoring programs, including viable and non-viable particulate sampling, and ensure corrective actions are taken as needed.Properly handle, store, and dispose of hazardous drugs in accordance with USPrequirements and OSHA regulations.
Maintain inventory of raw materials, chemicals, and compounding supplies, ensuring proper storage conditions and expiration date management.Perform routine equipment maintenance and calibration to ensure accurate and reliable compounding.Train and mentor pharmacy technicians and other support staff on compounding techniques and compliance standards.Adhere to all federal, state, and local laws and regulations governing pharmacy practice and compounding.Requirements :
Previous experience in compounding pharmacyDoctor of Pharmacy or Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from an accredited college of pharmacyCurrent and unrestricted Pharmacist license in the state of FloridaIn-depth knowledge and practical experience with USP General Chaptersand
