Schedule : Sunday–Wednesday, 6 : 00 AM - 4 : 30PM
4 day x 10 hour schedule
Type : Contract-to-Hire
Pay Range : 43-46
Position Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and hands-on Facilities Maintenance Technician to join our facilities maintenance team. This role focuses on maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing HVAC and refrigeration systems across multiple buildings. A high percentage of “wrench time” is expected, and the ideal candidate will be a multi-skilled technician with a strong understanding of building automation systems (BAS), CMMS, and mechanical systems.
Key Responsibilities
Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on HVAC, refrigeration, and mechanical systems
Monitor and adjust systems including chillers, boilers, cooling towers, VAVs, heat exchangers, and hot water systems
Respond to and resolve alarms and emergency maintenance issues during assigned shifts and on-call rotations
Accept, log, and follow up on all service requests and alarms using CMMS
Install, repair, and rebuild HVAC units, pumps, motors, compressors, and associated piping and controls
Conduct inspections and document findings; escalate equipment issues to management
Support equipment installations, upgrades, and major repairs
Ensure compliance with OSHA standards, safety protocols, and hazardous materials handling procedures
Maintain accurate records of labor, materials, and service activities
Assist with interdepartmental coordination and support other technicians as needed
Required Qualifications
High school diploma or state equivalent
Minimum 3 years of experience with HVAC and refrigeration mechanical systems
Massachusetts Refrigeration License required
Familiarity with BAS , CMMS , and technical documentation (blueprints, schematics)
Strong understanding of refrigeration systems, including walk-in coolers and ice machines
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word)
Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
Willingness to work flexible hours, including on-call shifts and overtime
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
Comfortable working in confined spaces, on rooftops, and in various environmental conditions
Frequent bending, twisting, reaching, and standing for extended periods
Ability to operate electric hand tools and powered industrial trucks
Use of PPE including ESD smocks, gloves, safety glasses, and ionizers as required

Pay Details : 43.00 to 46.00 per hour
