Overview

Pulmonary Function Tech role at St. Mary's Medical Center - Huntington, WV. The incumbent maintains a high quality level of care within the diagnostic clinical setting and provides assistance and expertise to all customers. Responsible for providing educational needs to patients in The Center for Lung Health pertaining to pulmonary function testing and evidence-based practice pulmonary disease treatment. Accountable for day-to-day patient care management and may perform special projects and participate in lung health screenings throughout the year. Handles critical lab values promptly, seeks physician orders for testing, and communicates patient results professionally and in a timely manner.

Responsibilities

• Perform pulmonary testing and evaluation, including spirometry and pre / post bronchodilator spirometry.
• Ensure accurate handling of lab values and timely communication of results to physicians and patients.
• Maintain professional, customer-focused, service-oriented conduct, promoting respect and dignity for all customers.
• Seek opportunities to improve the patient experience in the clinic and pursue those improvements.
• Participate in lung health screenings as needed and support educational activities for patients.
• Manage day-to-day patient care activities related to pulmonary function testing.
