Job description

GTECH is seeking a Senior Security Specialist to support its customer. The selected candidate will manage and oversee complex security operations and programs, providing expert guidance and technical leadership across multiple security disciplines. This role is responsible for interpreting and implementing federal security directives, coordinating interagency efforts, and ensuring full compliance with classified information handling procedures and policies.

Location : Springfield, VA

Key Responsibilities :

  • Monitor and manage security programs and operations, providing reports and recommendations to inform decision-making.
  • Collaborate with internal offices, divisions, and external agencies to ensure integrated and compliant security practices.
  • Provide agency-level technical expertise and recommendations across multiple security disciplines.
  • Develop and communicate innovative security solutions to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Prepare and disseminate official security policies, procedures, and guidance.
  • Interpret and apply security policy related to the processing, dissemination, and control of classified materials.
  • Manage and track project milestones and life-cycle plans for assigned security initiatives.
  • Conduct inspections, security reviews, and assistance visits to ensure program compliance.
  • Liaise with DoD, Intelligence Community, and other federal partners to maintain awareness of emerging policies and best practices.
  • Perform risk management and impact assessments to identify vulnerabilities and recommend mitigations.
  • Develop and maintain security documentation, databases, and reports.
  • Provide classification management support, including proper marking, release guidance, and dissemination procedures for SCI and collateral materials.
  • Safeguard SCI, SAP, CAP, ACCM, RD, FGI, and CNWDI materials in compliance with established handling procedures.
  • Prepare outgoing classified messages and documentation for personnel and contractors visiting other government facilities.
  • Deliver briefings and written communications to customers, partners, and senior leadership.
  • Share knowledge, mentor junior staff, and promote security best practices across the organization.
  • Maintain subject-matter expertise by engaging with classification and security management communities across the IC.
  • Develop innovative techniques for implementing classification training and compliance initiatives.

Required Skills :

  • Active TS / SCI with CI Poly
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience applying Executive Orders 12333, 13526, and 13556, as well as ICDs 703 & 710 and DoD Manual 5200.01 standards related to classified and controlled unclassified information.
  • Demonstrated expertise with the Intelligence Community Markings System Register and Manual.
  • Proven ability to analyze and resolve complex security and classification issues.
  • Preferred Skills :

  • Experience briefing personnel at various levels, with strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Security Fundamentals Professional Certification (SFPC).
  • Experience developing and managing classification management programs.
