Salary : RESPONSIBILITIES :
Essential Functions
- Provide instruction in preparation for Division of Motor Vehicles (DMV) pre-trip truck / trailer inspection test for CDL training students
- Provide driving instruction in preparation for DMV truck / trailer driving test for CDL training students
- Maintain records of student instructional appointments and drive time.
- Oversee repair and maintenance of trucks and trailers for CDL program.
- Teach CDL classroom and student driving sessions assigned.
- Coordinate training schedules with other driving instructor(s).
- Coordinate with program secretary concerning additional drive time purchases and course completion certificates.
- Communicate with program coordinator about equipment, student scheduling needs, and other applicable issues related to the CDL program.
- Create and prepare instructional materials as needed.
- Work effectively within a team setting.
- Comply with policies, procedures, and practices set forth by HutchCC.
- Arrive on time for work, attend work regularly, and successfully perform the responsibilities of the position.
- Serve actively on campus committees.

Perform other responsibilities as assigned by the CDL Coordinator.QUALIFICATIONS (Essential) :
Valid CDL (Commercial Drivers License) required with airbrake endorsement, The successful candidates driving record will be checked.The ability and willingness to teach classroom sessions, driving knowledge and skills to students with little or no tractor / trailer driving experience.The ability to communicate well orally and in writing.Required physical requirements include lifting up to 50 pounds, walking, bending, stooping, carrying, etc., and excellent communication skills; excellent verbal, written, and listening communication skills; excellent organizational skills; ability and willingness to collaborate; ability to work independently; use appropriate judgment and to apply tact and courtesy in difficult situations; moderate to heavy, indoor / outdoor work environment.Mental requirements include the ability to learn and comprehend basic instructions about the position.Physical and mental qualifications must be performed with or without a reasonable accommodation.The qualifications listed are guidelines for selection purposes; alternative qualifications may be substituted if sufficient to perform the duties.HOURLY WAGE and STATUS :
The hourly wage is commensurate with qualifications as determined by HutchCC administration. This part-time support staff position is 12 months annual, 20-25 hours per week. This position qualified for the Kansas Public Employees Retirement System (KPERS) plan but is not eligible for the HutchCC fringe benefit plan due to the part-time status. This position is at-will and nonexempt.
