American Traveler is seeking an experienced PACU RN with critical care skills and experience in a Level I Trauma Center for rotating PACU and interventional radiology assignments.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Position is based in the PACU and includes rotation to pre- and post-interventional radiology areasSetting is a short-term acute care hospital and Level I Trauma CenterPatient population consists of surgical patients, including GU, GYN, colorectal, bariatric, minimally invasive, and some ENT casesNurse-to-patient ratio is 1 : 2Assignment is 3x12 hour shifts, Monday through Friday with variable start times, primarily night shift (2100-0900)No weekend shifts requiredOn-call required : 24 hours per 6-week schedule, as neededFloating may occur within the service lineEpic is the EMR used, and experience with Epic is requiredUse of mechanical ventilation, telemetry, and frequent IV startsResponsible for managing complex post-operative and pre-op patients including those with multiple drains, on vasopressors, and recovering from general anesthesiaTeam structure supports care in both PACU and IR pre / post settingsOrientation includes required modules and in-person attendance with navy scrubsFit testing required and must be clean-shaven if applicableNo more than 7 days of requested time off allowed during the 13 week contract, and no time off permitted the first weekFirst time travelers are acceptedParking options available for a monthly fee; orientation parking not reimbursedDress code requires navy scrubsMust be able to complete all required modules prior to starting assignment\n \n Requirements\n
Active MO or compact RN license requiredBLS and ACLS certifications requiredAt least 1 year of critical care or Level I Trauma Center experience requiredProficiency in ventilation, vasoactive drip management, and telemetry requiredExperience with Epic EMR system requiredFirst time travelers welcomeHome address must be at least 75 miles from facilityMust provide SSN and DOB for considerationNo previous permanent employment at this health system within the last year\n Benefits\n
