Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Neuro Hospitalist (Inpatient, 7-on / 7-off)

McKinney, TX | Full-Time | Inpatient Hospital Setting

Schedule : 7 Days On / 7 Days Off | In-Person Role

Hourly Pay : $57 to  $74 per hour (based on experience)

Overview

A reputable inpatient neurology and stroke care group in the McKinney area is hiring an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP) to support its Neuro Hospitalist team. This position offers a structured rotation, steady case variety, and meaningful collaboration with an experienced interdisciplinary staff.

Responsibilities

Deliver direct inpatient management for neurological and stroke patients in acute and critical-care settings.

Conduct detailed neuro exams, document findings, and implement evidence-based treatment plans.

Respond to code-stroke activations and coordinate rapid diagnostic and therapeutic interventions.

Partner with neurology, neurosurgery, and hospitalist teams to optimize patient outcomes.

Educate patients and families about care plans and recovery expectations.

Participate in quality-improvement and clinical education efforts.

Requirements

Current Texas RN license and ACNP certification (required)

BLS and ACLS certifications

At least 2 years of inpatient or hospital-based NP experience

Strong assessment, teamwork, and critical-thinking skills

Preferred Qualifications

Prior Neurology or Neuro-ICU experience

NIH Stroke Scale or ENLS certification

Comfort with EEG interpretation and neurological procedures

Compensation & Benefits

$57 to $74 per hour (roughly $120K $155K annual equivalent)
