Job Overview :
The Service Technician / Backup Truck Driver plays a key role in maintaining the operational efficiency of company trailers, shop equipment, and fleet vehicles. This position ensures all equipment remains safe, reliable, and in compliance with both company and DOT standards. Additionally, the individual will act as a backup CDL driver, supporting delivery operations as needed, and assist with bulk installation projects when required.
Service Technician Responsibilities :
- Perform regular inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on trailers, shop equipment, and tools.
- Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance to keep all equipment in optimal working condition.
- Inspect and service trailer components, including brakes, axles, electrical systems, tires, and chassis.
- Perform welding, fabrication, and replacement / installation of components as necessary.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment by managing tools and equipment.
- Track high-use items and manage inventory of tools and equipment accurately.
- Document all maintenance and repair activities in the fleet management system.
- Support DOT inspections and ensure compliance with safety standards for all company equipment.
- Maintain accurate logs, parts inventory, and equipment inspection records.
- Report and address hazards or equipment needs promptly to uphold safety standards.
- Assist with loading, setup, parts handling, and site preparation for various projects.
- Follow safe work practices around tanks, piping, and installation equipment.
Delivery Driver Responsibilities :
Load, unload, and safely transport gas and liquid cylinders, along with other hard goods.Make deliveries to customers or company branches as needed.Accurately complete and submit all required paperwork, including shipping documents and delivery tickets.Ensure the delivery vehicle remains clean and in proper working order.Follow all DOT and OSHA regulations during delivery operations.Safely handle and move cylinders, ensuring compliance with all safety guidelines.Perform other duties as assigned to support team objectives.Qualifications :
High school diploma or equivalent.Valid Class A CDL with Hazmat endorsement (or the ability to obtain both).Clean driving record with no violations.Proficient in reading and writing in English.Ability to lift, move, and maneuver compressed gas and liquid cylinders (50-75 lbs. frequently, 100+ lbs. with assistance).Must successfully pass pre-employment screenings, including drug tests, DOT physical, back assessment, and company-administered road test.Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with customers.Basic mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic repair skills.Welding and fabrication experience is preferred.Proficient in using shop tools and diagnostic equipment.A strong focus on safety and attention to detail, along with excellent teamwork skills.Incentives :
