Searching for a hero who can inspire their party to victory! We're looking for a candidate who is passionate about tabletop games, providing legendary service to the gaming community, and has achieved xp levels in retail sales and management. In this exciting role, you'll be responsible for helping us build a gamer's dream store from the ground up, working with our Product Category Managers to curate the correct balance of inventory for our customers, providing training, guidance and supervision to staff members, maintaining accurate inventory and financial records, placing and tracking product orders, creating dynamic community events, and drawing in wandering adventurers through social media channels. If you enjoy moving meeples, building decks, rolling 20's and creating a fun, safe space for other gamers to join in the fun, this may be the role for you!
Our team and our customers will require very specific and demanding qualifications, skill sets, personal temperament and performance.
Experience
- Leadership : Minimum 3 years' experience of retail management, preferably in specialty or high-volume environments.
- Passion : Comprehensive knowledge of tabletop gaming, trading card games, and collectible culture.
- Sales : Proven ability to meet or exceed sales and operational goals.
- Flexibility : Ability to work evenings, weekends, and during key release periods.
Responsibilities
Store Leadership & Operations
Oversee daily operations including opening / closing, cash management, inventory control, merchandising, and sales floor standards.Maintain accurate and efficient inventory management, ensuring all products are properly received, stocked, and accounted for.Proactively manage shrinkage, identifying root causes of loss and implementing corrective actions.Ensure the store is clean, organized, and visually aligned with the BBTS brand.Execute central marketing and merchandising initiatives, including product launches and promotional activities.Monitor sales performance and operational KPIs, adjusting tactics to meet or exceed goals.Maintain compliance with all company policies and operational procedures.Customer & Community Engagement
Deliver a high-quality BBLX customer experience consistent with BBTS's reputation for knowledgeable and trustworthy service.Build relationships with local gaming and collector communities to drive traffic and engagement.Oversee in-store organized play programs that create community connections and repeat visits.Trading Card Operations
Manage the buying, selling, and trading of collectible cards (e.g., Magic : The Gathering, Pokémon, etc.).Train and supervise staff on card evaluation, pricing, and intake processes.Maintain accurate card inventory and ensure integrity in all transactions.Team Management
Recruit, train, and develop store associates and keyholders.Create clear performance expectations and deliver consistent coaching and feedback.Foster a positive, collaborative, and accountable team environment.Ensure all staff are trained on product knowledge, store operations, and customer interaction standards.Other reasonable directives, responsibilities and activities may change or be assigned at any time with or without notice.Required Skills
Strong organizational and communication skillsExperience managing, judging or participating in organized play programs preferredFamiliarity with trading card grading, valuation, or resale process preferredCurious and willing to explore and learn about new products.Maintains a positive and upbeat outlook daily.PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS
