Job description

Overview

Optometric Technician - Training Provided. Clarkson Eyecare is hiring for an Optometric Technician to assist in providing a world-class Total Patient Experience. Location : 3308 Jefferson Ave, Cincinnati, OH.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Embrace and execute our Total Patient Experience to build relationships with all patients while delivering great medical support
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures including HIPAA
  • Practice urgency at all times, valuing the patient\'s time as well as the doctor\'s time and schedule
  • Operate manual lensometer, auto-lensometer, autorefractor / keratometer, retinal camera, visual field, GDX or OCT
  • Follow scripting for testing equipment (photos, visual fields, visual activity, etc.)
  • Clean all examination equipment including tonometer tip
  • Interact with all levels of employees in a courteous, professional manner at all times
  • General office duties and cleaning as assigned by manager
  • Contribute to a positive, team-oriented, patient-focused work environment
  • Commit to work hours that meet business needs, which may include weekends, schedule changes or extended schedules

Qualifications

  • Previous medical office experience preferred; ophthalmic experience strongly preferred
  • Minimum of 1 year in a customer / patient-facing role or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Favorable result on background check as required by state
  • Must be able to provide proof of identity and right to work in the United States
  • Education and / or Experience

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Licenses and Credentials

  • None
  • Systems and Technology

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook
  • Location

  • Work is primarily performed in a standard office or clinical setting; travel to other locations may be required to carry out essential duties and responsibilities
  • Physical Requirements

  • Frequent walking (75%), sitting (50%), and standing (50%); bending, stooping, and reaching (25–50%)
  • Lift, carry, push, and pull items up to 25 lbs
  • Fine motor skills and full use of hands; constant grasping, writing / typing, and use of technology
  • Visual and auditory acuity including color, depth, peripheral vision, and adjustable focus
  • Occasional driving or climbing may be necessary
