OB / LDRP Facility : Bassett Medical Center Unit Overview & Patient Volume ? Average Monthly Deliveries : 80–90 (fluctuates by month) ? Unit Composition : Mix of experienced RNs and new graduates who are still gaining specialized OB experience ? Traveler Role : Essential in supporting patient care due to the number of new graduate RNs ? Unit Specifics : o 4 Labor / Delivery / Recovery (LDR) rooms, each with a private bath, shower, and spa tub o 8 postpartum rooms with refrigerators and fold-out couches o Operating rooms for Caesarean births o A special care nursery Candidate Requirements ? Experience : o Preferred : 3+ years of OB experience o Consideration : Candidates with less than 3 years may be accepted if they have prior travel experience or have worked in a specialized OB setting ? Certifications (Required) : o BLS o NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) o Intermediate Fetal Monitoring Certification Contract Details ? Contract Length : 12–13 weeks (shorter durations are not ideal due to coverage needs) ? Holiday Coverage : Travelers must work every other holiday, similar to full-time staff (holiday requests are approved based on unit needs) Scheduling & Additional Openings ? Anticipated Needs : Additional night shift RN travel contract
