Job Description

American Traveler is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant with inpatient rehab experience and South Carolina licensure for a hospital-based assignment.

Responsibilities

  • Work in an inpatient rehab unit within a hospital setting
  • Unit size is 28 staffed beds
  • 5x8 hour day shifts from 8 : 00am to 4 : 30pm
  • Possible requirement to work one weekend per month
  • Holiday shifts are required
  • No floating or on-call responsibilities required
  • Uses Epic for charting and documentation
  • Daily responsibilities include providing patient care within the scope of a PTA in a collaborative rehab team
  • Pewter colored scrubs required
  • Free parking available on site
  • Pre-start modules must be completed, averaging about 4 hours, and are reported by the facility
  • All requested time off must be submitted up front; approval is based on facility needs
  • Assignment may require participation in emergency response teams during hurricane season (June through November)
  • Travelers may not be submitted to multiple units or campuses at the same time

    • Requirements

  • Active South Carolina PTA license required; applicants with pending licenses must provide proof of application
  • Current BLS certification required (AHA only)
  • Inpatient rehab hospital experience required; new grads with inpatient rehab fieldwork considered
  • First-time travelers accepted with relevant inpatient rehab experience
  • Candidates must not reside within 60 miles of the facility
  • Drivers license and SSN required for consideration
  • Previous employees must have been separated from the system for at least one year before returning as travelers
