Schedule : Full-Time Salary Range : USD $66000.00 - $125000.00 Job Category : Claims Description The Workers Compensation Resolution Claims Specialist works using the latest technology to manage an assigned caseload of resolution target outcome Workers Compensation claims. This includes making decisions about compensability and evaluating losses. The role interacts with injured workers, self-insured employers, medical providers, attorneys, and other third parties throughout the claims management process. The position offers training developed with an emphasis on enhancing skills needed to help provide exceptional service to our customers. This position may be filled as a Senior Claims Specialist I or II depending on candidate experience. The salary range posted reflects the range for the varying pay scale that encompasses each of the Liberty Mutual regions and the overall cost of living for that region. Candidates who are selected for this position will participate in remote and / or in person training and should be available to travel as needed based on business needs. This can be 100% Remote or Hybrid position depending on your location. You will be required to go into the office twice a month if you reside within 50 miles of Lake Oswego, OR, Chandler, AZ or Las Vegas, NV office. Please note this policy is subject to change. Washington Self-Insured Certification Preferred. Responsibilities : Manages an inventory of workers compensation claims to evaluate compensability / liability. Establishes action plan based on case facts, best practices, protocols, regulatory issues, and available resources. Plans and conducts investigations of claims to confirm coverage and compensability. Assesses statutory compensability for submitted claims and notifies the self- insured employer of any issues; determines and establishes reserve requirements, adjusting reserves, as necessary, during the processing of the claim. Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications Bachelor's Degree or equivalent, preferred. 0-5 years' experience in claims adjusting along with knowledge of claims investigation techniques, legal liability, insurance coverage, negotiation skills and medical terminology. Effective written and verbal communication skills to provide information in a clear and concise manner and to communicate with a variety of individuals. Effective analytical skills to gather information, analyze facts and make recommendations based upon information collected. Required to obtain and maintain all applicable licenses. Continuing education courses leading to industry certifications preferred (e.g., WA Self-Insurance Certification, WA Certified adjuster).
