Scope of Work : The Family Liaison is responsible for building partnerships with families that break down barriers of communication, understanding and navigating schools, and to build families and school capacities.

Reports to the School Principal for daily supervision and directions, and the Office of FSCP for support, training and resources.

Primary Responsibilities :

• Recognize barriers that prevent families' full engagement in schools by providing resources, interpretation, and other related services.
• Address family's questions and concerns to appropriate school staff for the purpose of supporting students' school experience.
• Facilitate clear and consistent communication between families and schools.
• Contact parents through phone calls, home visits, and or meetings to encourage their child's attendance in school
• Maintain documentation of activities, LEAP and student logs, and prepare reports as required.
• Develops an individual work plan, with quantifiable deliverables, that detail the Liaison role in the implementation of the schools' goals and family / student engagement plan.
• Be part of the school's chronic absenteeism team and hosts conversations to remove barriers of chronic absenteeism including home visits, use of ParentSquare, school health services, and community resources.
• Work with other district liaisons to design and implement Family University-a year long offering of educational opportunities for families.
• Organize and support family nights, conferences, and other school-based events.
• Coordinates family resource nights with the Office of Family, School, and Community partnerships and community partners
• Performs other duties as required that is directed at supporting students attendance in school
