Role : POS Product Engineer
Duration : 6 months + and eventually CTH
Location : Miramar, FL - onsite 4x a week and remote on Fridays
TRAVEL REQUIRED : The candidate must possess a valid U.S. passport and be willing to travel approximately 40% of the time, primarily to France but varies (for deployment and implementation tasks)
The POS Product Engineer position is focused on managing the implementation of Point of Sale (POS) systems within the hospitality sector, specifically tailored for environments in F&B IT such as restaurants, dining establishments, and cruise lines. The ideal candidate will lead full-cycle POS implementations, ensuring seamless integration and functionality tailored to the unique needs of Client.
While technical support experience is valuable, the role is not focused on providing POS tech support. Instead, it requires technical acumen in system setup, configuration, and troubleshooting as part of the implementation process. This will include tasks such as Firewall, Network and POS Hardware (POS Terminals, PC Tablets).
Key Responsibilities
Full POS Implementation :
Oversee the entire POS implementation process from start to finish.
- Ensure successful deployment and system integration with other existing operational platforms such as loyalty and other Food & Beverage applications.
- Install and Configure POS Systems : Set up and configure POS hardware and software, including security, networks, vlans, servers, desktops, terminals, and peripherals.
- Define and set up business rules and configurations specific to the organization's operational needs.
- Collaboration : Work closely with other IT team members and departments to ensure seamless integration and operation of POS systems within the broader IT infrastructure.
- Documentation : Maintain detailed documentation of system configurations, changes, and support activities.
- User Training : Train end-users on the proper use of POS systems and provide ongoing support as needed.
- Technical Support : Provide day-to-day technical support as needed for POS systems, addressing issues related to software, hardware, and network connectivity
- Maintenance and Upgrades : Perform regular maintenance, updates, and upgrades to ensure the POS systems are running efficiently and securely.
- Troubleshooting : Diagnose and resolve technical issues with POS systems, including software bugs, hardware malfunctions, and network problems.
System Expertise :
Have in-depth knowledge and hands-on experience with major POS systems like MICROS, Client, Agilisys, and Infogenesis.Familiarity with the current systems in use at Client (Agilisys) is a nice to have but not requiredExperience with windows active directory and group policyIndustry Experience :
Prior experience in the hospitality, restaurant, or cruise line industries is essential. Candidates should understand the unique operational challenges and customer service expectations within these sectors.Relevant experience should include working with POS systems and applications related to restaurant management, dining operations, and inventory control.Technical Skills :
