- Salary for new hires : up to $21.00 per hour, to start (based on experience and education)

EMS Communications Specialist will be responsible for processing incoming patient transport requests and receiving all incoming phone calls in a timely manner; and is responsible for processing all condition codes, monitoring fire alarms, addressing security requests, and providing phone operator service during off hours..
The ideal candidate will have a strong background with emergency medical services and great communication skills. EMT and / or Paramedic certification is strongly preferred.
Minimum Require ments :
High School Diploma or equivalent requiredMinimum of 1 year experience current or prior EMS Communications experience requiredAdvanced proficiency using computers, general navigation, ability to learn new softwareExcellent communication skills are requiredCurrent EMT and / or Paramedic certification strongly preferredJob Responsibilities :
Efficiently schedule non-medically necessary transportation for eligible clients / consumersPlan and coordinate transportation via the appropriate mode in accordance with policies and proceduresReceive emergency calls and process appropriatelyProvide exceptional customer serviceReceive and document medical command reports and notify the emergency departmentMonitor hospital alarm systemsCoordinate medical command requests from paramedic to physician and document the requestProcess incoming callsDocument all information in the cloud-based EMS Dispatch computer-aided systemEfficiently process medically necessary patient transportation requests on a timely basis.Receive hospital condition codes and send out notification page per policy and procedurePerform hospital operator duties on the overnight shift
