Corporate Services Security (CPSS) is the Amazon security team aligned to Finance & Global Business Services (FGBS), People eXperience & Technology (PXT), Legal, and Communications and Corporate Responsibility (CCR).

Our Mission is to protect and safeguard Amazon's corporate services, systems, and data. We engage with development teams to understand dynamic business processes and enable stakeholders to innovate, build, and scale securely. The Product Security Team within CPSS supports numerous applications built using AWS Services. We also provide opportunities for engineers to pursue projects they are passionate about while maintaining work-life harmony.

Responsibilities

• Perform Design and Security Reviews to determine risk to customers and prioritize remediation in conjunction with the service team.
• Promote security across the company and build good working relationships within the team and with other Amazon teams.
• Demonstrate high capacity for context switching and interruptions while remaining productive and effective.
• Escalate issues to senior leadership when progress is not at the required pace based on impact to ensure customers are prioritized.
• Explore building and improving tooling to streamline security work and share benefits with engineers globally.
• Assist with recruiting activities and administrative work.
• Create, update, and maintain threat models for a wide variety of software projects.
• Conduct manual and automated secure code reviews, primarily in Java, Python, and JavaScript.
• Develop security automation tools and perform adversarial security analysis to augment manual effort.
• Provide Security training and outreach for internal development teams.
• Provide Security architecture and design guidance to application development teams.
• Independently solve systemic, complex security problems requiring novel methods or approaches.
• Influence team and partner processes, priorities, and choices using data to improve security outcomes.
• Provide technical and strategic guidance to senior leaders and stakeholders through effective oral and written communications.
• Collaborate with application development teams to ensure secure development of new services and features; lead by influence and clear communication.

What you’ll do on a day-to-day basis

Collaborate with development teams to keep customers safe while developing novel services. You may inspect an application's code for security issues, build frameworks to help developers work faster and more securely, or refine design for new services. The ideal candidate combines technical depth with strong communication skills and can articulate risks to both technical and non-technical audiences. You will harmonize disparate opinions and prioritize risks to guide secure solutions.

Team and Company Context

The CPSS Product Security Team secures applications, infrastructure, and data across PXT, FGBS, Legal, and CCR. We partner with builder teams to minimize security risks while enabling business. Our team develops security tooling and automation to provide high-quality findings earlier in the development lifecycle.

Compensation : The base pay ranges from $136,000 / year to $212,800 / year, depending on factors including location, knowledge, skills, and experience.
