The Care Center Coordinator serves as a full-time hybrid position that blends administrative responsibilities with physical care center operations. The Care Center Coordinator plays a critical role in ensuring dignity, respect, and accuracy in handling the decedents entrusted into our care. The Care Center Coordinator will also focus on optimizing resources and procurement needs while servicing the company's area funeral homes.
Essential Functions and Competencies
- Intake and Documentation : Accurately record all vital details of decedents upon intake, including condition, weight, height, personal property, and any other relevant information.
- Coordination and Scheduling : Organize and schedule transports, embalming, preparations, and flights for the deceased.
- Inventory Management : Conduct weekly inventory of decedents in our care to ensure accurate tracking and accountability.
- Releases and Transfers : Review documents, verify and confirm Legal Next of Kin, and facilitate the release of decedents to other funeral homes or establishments, ensuring proper documentation.
- Chain of Custody : Maintain detailed records to uphold compliance and transparency regarding the custody of decedents and their property.
- Administrative Duties : Perform data entry, email correspondence, and phone communication; Utilize Microsoft Office and spreadsheet programs to support recordkeeping and scheduling.
- Physical Duties : Lifting, pushing, and pulling over 150lbs; standing for long periods, and bending as required in the care center.
- Handle decedents in various stages of postmortem changes. Exposure to odors and noxious fumes.
- Adhere to all professional, municipal, state / provincial, and federal licensing authority regulations applicable to funeral homes and the preparation of human remains.
- Promote a safe work environment by being aware of and practicing universal precautions and adopting general principles of safe conduct.
- Assist with maintenance of preparation room and the facility; receive and maintain inventory for caskets and other funeral home supplies.

Required Education and Experience
