Job description

Chevington Animal Hospital is seeking a compassionate and skilled Veterinarian, DVM, to join our team in Pickerington, Ohio. We are a small animal clinic and offer a comprehensive range of veterinary services, including diagnostics, treatments, surgeries, and preventative care.

About us : Chevington Animal Hospital was founded in 1989 by William P. Young, DVM. Since that time, we have served Pickerington and the surrounding area. Our staff works with clients to keep their pets healthy, while answering all their questions. We are a full service clinic for dogs and cats, and passionate about our services towards clients and their pets. Our mission is to educate our clients to enable them to make informed decisions regarding their pet's healthcare.

Services available includes, but not limited to : diagnostic imaging via digital x-ray and ultrasound; preventative care with routine vaccinations and appointments; feline CO2 laser declaws, spays and neuters, advanced soft tissue surgeries, among other laser surgeries. We also have in house labwork capabilities including fecals, urine, routine labwork, cortisols, CPL, and T4.

  • About The Role :
  • As a Veterinarian at Chevington, you will play a curcial role in providing the highest quality of care to our patients. Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following :

  • Diagnosis and Treatment : examining animals, diagnosing illnesses and injuries, and developing effective treatment plans with proper protocol and follow up, as needed
  • Surgical Procedures : performing a variety of surgical procedures, including, but not limited to spay / neuter, wound care, and mass removals
  • Preventative Care : administering vaccinations, conducting routine physical exams, and providing guidance on preventative care measures
  • Client Communication : explain diagnoses, treatment options, and providing education on animal care
  • Record Keeping : maintaining accurate and detailed medical records for each patients
  • Team Collaboration : collaborating with technicians, assistants, and other staff members to provide comprehensive and effective patient care
  • Emergency Care : providing emergency care and stabilization for critically ill or injured animals as needed during listed office hours
  • Diagnostic Testing : performing and interpeting diagnostic tests, such as x-rays, labwork, and ultrasounds
  • Medications : prescribing and administering medications as needed
  • Qualifications :
  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from an accredited institution
  • Current Ohio Veterinary License
  • Compassionate and patient-centered approach to animal care
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Ability to work required scheduled hours each week and every third rotating Saturday
  • All applicants accepted, but preference is given for those with increased surgical experience (esp. abdominal surgeries, and internal medicine). Compensation is based on experience.

    Saturday : 8am-12p
