JOB OVERVIEW

  • Job Type : Locum Tenens
  • Location : Minneapolis / St. Paul, MN (Float Pool)
  • Service Setting : Acute Care Hospital / Clinic (multiple sites)
  • Coverage Type : Clinical + Call
  • Coverage Period : 12 / 08 / 2025 – 26 weeks (ongoing, up to 8 shifts per month)
  • Clinical Shift Schedule : 12-hour or 24-hour shifts (day and night)
  • On-Call Shift Schedule : In-house or restricted hotel call depending on site
  • Call Type : In-House and Off-Site (site dependent)
  • Call Ratio : Variable
  • Call Response Time : Immediate for in-house; restricted requirements for St. Francis

  • Abbott Northwestern : 11 / 21
  • St. Francis : 10 / 11, 11 / 10, 11 / 23 (PM), 12 / 5, 12 / 6, 12 / 7, 12 / 10 (AM), 12 / 24, 12 / 25 (AM), 12 / 29 (PM)
  • Additional sporadic shifts sent monthly

    • PATIENT INFORMATION

  • Patient Demographics : Adults
  • Patient Volume / Census : Medium to high volume at Abbott NW and United; low volume (1–2 deliveries / day) at St. Francis
  • Admissions : Yes
  • Rounding : Included
  • Phone Consults : As required
  • Case Mix : Deliveries, C-sections, D&Cs, laparoscopic tubals, ectopics, general OB / GYN procedures

    • FACILITY INFORMATION

  • EMR System : Epic
  • Office Equipment Available : Standard OB / GYN
  • Specialty Backup Available : Available within Allina Health system
  • Support Staff Available : Standard OB / GYN staff at each facility
  • Reason for Coverage : Supplemental coverage across float pool locations

    • PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE

  • Hospital Privileges Required : Yes
  • Credentialing Timeline : 60–90 days (fingerprinting required; results must post before privileges granted)

    • JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Licenses : Active Minnesota license required
  • Board : BC / BE in Obstetrics / Gynecology
  • DEA : Active DEA required
  • Certifications : Not specified
  • Experience : Competence in OBGYN surgical and obstetric procedures
  • Other Qualifications : Clean malpractice record required

    • DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide OBGYN coverage across multiple Allina Health facilities (Abbott Northwestern, United, St. Francis, Buffalo Clinic, Mercy, Faribault)
  • Perform deliveries and required OB / GYN surgical procedures
  • Cover 12-hour and 24-hour shifts as scheduled, including in-house and restricted call
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to provide high-quality patient care
  • Maintain accurate documentation in Epic EMR
  • Ensure adherence to facility guidelines, credentialing, and compliance requirements
