Pay Information

$2,086 per week

About The Position

Job Title : OR Tech / Surgical Tech

Profession : Surgical Services

Specialty : OR Tech / Surgical Tech

Duration : 18-26 weeks

Shift : Day 5x8

Hours per Shift : 8

Experience : Minimum 3 years' experience required

License : No license required for this role

Certifications : BLS required, CST preferred

Must-Have :

  • General OR experience
  • Teaching hospital experience preferred
  • Trauma experience required

Description :

18-26 weeks to help with holiday coverage.

Average daily census of 50-60 cases.

Must work weekends once a month with a total of 16 hours obligation.

On-call required as needed for the department.

Will float within scope of practice to meet facility needs.

Must discuss schedule requests with management.

All time off must be reviewed and approved by management.

Candidates may be called off up to 36 hours in a 13-week assignment.

If candidates are placed on-call instead of being called off, that will count as a called-off shift.

Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to apply.

Must be in the state 3 business days prior to compliance requirements.

Experience required in the following areas :

  • Ear, Nose, and Throat procedures, including direct laryngoscopy, radial neck dissection, tonsillectomy / adenoidectomy, and tracheostomy.
  • Endoscopic procedures, including colonoscopy, EGD, and peg tube placement / exchange.
  • General surgeries, including appendectomy, cholecystectomy, and hernia repair.
  • Gynecological cases, including abdominal hysterectomy and laparoscopic procedures.
  • Neurosurgery, including craniotomy and lumbar fusion.
  • Orthopedic procedures, including arthroscopy and fracture reduction.
  • Urology cases, including cystoscopy and nephrectomy.
  • Trauma management experience, including handling gunshot / stab wounds and other emergencies.
  • Must possess knowledge of aseptic technique and safety procedures.
  • Proficiency in using various surgical equipment and instruments is required.
  • Must demonstrate understanding of universal protocol for surgical procedures.
  • Teaching hospital experience is preferred.
