Quality and Patient Safety Analyst

Position OverviewThe Quality and Patient Safety Analyst provides expertise and data analytics necessary to provide exceptional and safe care from Vizient Clinical Database and the patient incident reporting system. The Quality and Patient Safety Analyst reports to the Chief Data Officer but will also takes direction from the Director – Quality Management. This position works closely with all internal team members, stakeholders, and collaborators to produce and disseminate data to support decision making, and to promote continuous performance improvement efforts throughout UHS. Acts as a liaison between clinical and technical staff.

There is more than one location associated with this position. This is either because there are multiple openings at different sites, or the successful candidate will be required to float across multiple UHS facilities. Compensation Range :

$40.70 - $61.05 per hour, depending on experience

Education and Experience

Minimum Required

Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing or relevant clinical field.

2-3 years’ experience with quality, patient safety, or performance improvement.

Work requires communication skills sufficient to communicate clearly and effectively both verbally and in writing.

Work requires the ability to undertake multiple tasks, set priorities and work independently.

Work requires an understanding of regulatory, accrediting, and external reporting agencies as related to healthcare

Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 Suite, including use of MS Teams for document management.

Proficient user of Excel, including creation / use of formulas, graphs, and pivot tables.

Preferred

Master’s Degree in Nursing or relevant clinical field preferred

Previous experience in analytic / reporting development preferred

Clinical experience preferred.

Coding Experience / Knowledge Strongly preferred

Experience with data visualization software (Tableau, Power BI) preferred.

License and Certification

Minimum Required

• Registered nurse or other clinician
