Job Summary :
As an Ophthalmic Scribe Assistant, you will assist eye care providers with patient care and ensure the efficient flow of clinical activities. You will help with basic optometric testing, scribing, medication administration, and more while ensuring the proper use of medical instruments.
Key Responsibilities :
- Provide direct support to eye care providers in performing patient care.
- Conduct basic optometric testing procedures and assist with documentation.
- Handle patient education and enter charges into the system.
- Assist with minor procedures and prescription refills as directed by the eye care provider.
- Utilize critical thinking skills and take decisive actions in a fast-paced environment.
Requirements :
High School diploma or GED.Completion of Ophthalmic Medical Assisting Independent Study Course or JCAHPO Career Advancement Tool (JCAT) within two years of hire.Ophthalmic Scribe Certification (OSC) or Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) certification within the required timeframe.Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross before your start date.Location : UCHealth Eye Center AMC, Aurora, CO
