Cardiovascular Progressive Care Unit (CVPCU) is an upbeat, fast-paced unit dedicated to post-op Cardiovascular patients such as CABGs. CVPCU works closely with Surgeons and the heart clinic to ensure their patients are able to successfully return home at discharge.

• Patient population may include : post operative cardiac and thoracic surgery, kidney failure, pulmonary issues, overdoses, arrythmias and myocardial infarctions.
• This unit requires excellent critical thinking skills and quick decision making skills
• Due to the diverse nature this unit provides numerous educational opportunities for our coworkers.
• 32 - patient bed unit
• RN ratio 3-4 patients, with tech support Qualifications : Education & Licensure : Graduate from an accredited registered nursing program Must hold and maintain a current RN license for the hiring state or hold a compact nursing license Comply with all state nursing board requirements Physical Requirements : Ability to push, pull, or lift up to 50 lbs regularly Prolonged standing and walking throughout shifts Capable of gripping, reaching, bending, kneeling, twisting, and squatting as needed Certifications : ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) — Required BLS (Basic Life Support) — Required or must complete within 30 days of hire Additional unit-specific certifications as required, with timelines for acquisition Interested? net EEO / AA / Minorities / Females / Disabled / Veterans EEO / AA / Minorities / Females / Disabled / Veterans Why Mercy?
