Responsible for every aspect of the guest's and staff's experience as well as the profitability of the Hui. Duties include training staff, greeting guests, resolving customer complaints, providing hands‑on help to service teams, leading daily pre‑shifts with staff, identify and maintain supply pars. Host regular staff and management meetings, create and promote systems to enhance service and profits, create a safe and healthy work environment for our guests and staff. Establishes and maintains good communication and relationships with staff. Knows regular customers by name and tracks their preferences.

  • Has the ability to design, implement, and to continuously improve the systems and procedures that lead to success
  • Has experience in the training and development of staff members
  • Is self‑directed and able to work independently, as well as be an integral member of the management team
  • Has the ability to deliver a positive experience to every customer
  • Is able to work holidays, weekends, events, and other peak periods of the restaurant
  • Is able to work 40+ hours a week

    The General Manager is responsible for every aspect the guest’s and staff’s experience.

    Participate in training and performance reviews for Hui Leadership, following the standards set for the Hui and using the passport as a base guide.

    Maintain a clean and branded restaurant, setting and meeting hui standards as well as DOH certifications.

    Resolves any customer complaints that are “passed up” from staff and / or asks for help from the Food and Beverage Director, GM or Partner.

    Provides hands‑on help if needed by any of the service teams, including facilitating the resolution of conflicts between or within teams.

    Greets guests and delivers positive experience to each, able to identify repeat guests and preferences.

    Helps maintain inventory, pars, costs and quality.

    The General Manager reports to Food and Beverage Director, General Manager, Partners.

    Works with Vendors and contractors to maintain a safe and clean establishment.

    Regularly teaches staff workshops.

    Updates systems and protocols as needed in response to challenges and changes as well as addressing future growth.

    Leads regular staff and management meetings, attends all Leadership and Hui meetings.

    Establishes and maintains good communication and a positive working relationship with other leadership member within and outside of the Hui.

    Job Tasks

  • Set‑up Task Analysis with time parameters.
  • Assign duties, responsibilities and workstations to employees in accordance with work requirements.
  • Trains team on food preparation, safe food handling and safety procedures.
  • Estimates ingredients and supplies required to maintain flexible pars – based on business demands.
  • Analyze operational problems such as waste, theft and over portioning and communicate / suggest procedures to alleviate these problems.
  • Maintain updated study and training guides.
  • Recommend measures for improving work procedures and worker performance in order to increase service quality, efficiency and enhance job safety.
