Job descriptionSummaryThe Vice President, Software Engineering is responsible for all company technology and technological resources, including the buildout of an engineering team. The VP of Software Engineering will establish company technology vision, strategies, and plans for growth. The VP will focus on maintaining and improving all technological issues in the organization. This is a unique opportunity for a senior technology leader to innovate and drive the strategy of an organization that has already achieved significant success.Essential Duties and Responsibilitiesinclude the following. Other duties may be assigned.Responsible for overseeing all technology operations and evaluating them according to established goalsLead all technology efforts and create the technology roadmap and plan, outlining clear goals and executing on the plan in conjunction with organizational goalsEnsuring alignment across all touch pointsEvaluate the company’s technology opportunities by closely monitoring ongoing industry developments and consumer trends on a continuous basisLeverage the latest technology by effectively employing data analytics, machine learning, enhancing customer and end-user experienceStandardizing on an Agile software development process across the organization as appropriateFurther refine standard KPIs and reporting to evaluate business performance against desired resultsWork with the Marketing Leadership Team to identify and implement marketing technologies that will help the team exceed their goalsSupport enterprise in change management efforts across the enterprise as it related to digital, experience, innovation and cultureLead, manage and develop the technology team, coaching for development opportunities and fostering a collaborative, open team environmentOversee and ensure systems and data security from internal and external threatsCollaborate with operational teams to build improved system processes across the entireOversee project management of all IT initiatives, ensuring that design, development and launch are executed on-time and within budgetResponsible for defining business plans for the creation, maintenance and advancement of existing business solutions in order to meet strategic goalsSupervisory ResponsibilitiesManages assigned staff in the segment area. Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the unit. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Supports and enforces all company policies and procedures in a fair and consistent manner, taking corrective action whenever necessary.Client ResponsibilitiesThis is an internal and external client facing position that requires excellent customer service skills and interpersonal communication skills (listening / verbal / written).
