Part Time Unarmed Detention Officers Wanted!
AIP is looking for Part Time Unarmed Detention Officers to join our team of outstanding professionals. Compensation : $3500 sign on bonus for selected qualified candidates with a current DHS ICE or CBP Clearance! Hourly Rate : $32.00. Responsibilities
- Performs duties as a detention officer searching, processing, safeguarding, security, and escort of detainees
- Exercises surveillance and control over detainees and maintains order and discipline
- Attends to physical well-being of detainees, 24 hours a day
- Makes official entries in the assigned post logbooks that are legible and complete
- Enforces rules and regulations of the detention facility
- Provides care, custody and control of detainees
- Removes detainees from holding areas using proper restraints and security measures
- Guards detainees at deportation or exclusion hearings, during transport, while receiving medical care and when and other duties as assigned
- Performs all work duties and activities in accordance with organization policies and procedures
- Follows company-wide safety policies and practices and adheres to responsibilities concerning safety prevention, reporting and monitoring as outlined in the Officer Handbook and other Company Safety Policies
- Successfully completes all assigned training including defensive tactics and course requiring a minimum physical stamina
- Conducts a security and sanitation check of the area prior to relieving the outgoing officer
- Inventories all equipment and notates the results in the logbook
- Receives all authorized equipment and ensures that it is in proper working condition
- Ensures that your communication radio is in good working order with a fully charged battery
- Always maintain physical fitness standards and proficiency with any special equipment assigned and used while employed on this contract
Qualifications
US citizenAt least 21 years of ageMust have resided in the U.S. for the last three years and must maintain current / physical residency in the continental United StatesPossess a high school diploma or equivalent (GED)A minimum of 1 year of security, law enforcement or military experience preferredBachelor's degree considered in lieu of experiencePass a criminal background and consumer credit check (no criminal record)Obtain and maintain a DHS / ICE government clearanceSpeak, read, write, and understand EnglishPass a medical examination, all pre-employment / random drug tests, and meet health requirementsPossess a valid state driver's licenseAbility to obtain and maintain a state security guard licenseAbility to walk through all areas of the facility for tours and compliance inspections in varied weather conditionsAbility to respond quickly during emergency situationsAbility to work without restrictions and limitationsAbility to greet and deal tactfully and professionally with the general publicCapability of following and interpreting / understanding written and verbal orders, policies and regulations, printed rules and regulations, detailed written orders, training instructions and materials, and can compose written and oral reportsAbility to exercise good judgment : courage, alertness, an even temperament, and render satisfactory performance through his / her responsibilitiesAbility to maintain poise and self-control during potential emergencies and unexpected situations that may involve mental and physical stress such as disturbances, altercations, fires, and building evacuationsMaintain a professional personal appearance, calm demeanor, and discretion with confidential informationPossess a high degree of integrity, accountability and adhere to the American Correctional Association and DHS ICE National Detention StandardsDemonstrate an ability to work with a diverse population of people, including people of different cultures, with different values and lifestyles, with a cross-cultural perspectiveConcisely and accurately prepares and writes narratives of incidents and other written reportsDemonstrates proficiency in methods and techniques of securing and controlling detainees by following required training, policy and procedurePossess a high degree of integrity, accountability and adhere to the DHS ICE National Detention StandardsThis position requires the candidate to maintain physical fitness standards and must be able to pass and maintain required physical testing requirements and standards which includes :Must be able to lift heavy object up to 50lbs frequently and up to 70lbs occasionallyMust be able to push a wheelchair bound individual weighing up to 300 lbs. and helping individual in and out of chairMust be able to bend, stoop, crawl, kneel, twisting, reaching overhead and climb stairs, ladders and slopes periodicallyStrictly maintain physical fitness standards for law enforcement related position throughout your employment under this contractAbility to stand, sit, walk, bend and reach for extended periods of timeTexas Security License Number : B20019Company Description
