Commercial Loan Officer

A long-standing, community-focused financial institution is seeking a Commercial Loan Officer to join its team in Ingham County. This is a confidential search.

This institution is customer-owned, not shareholder-driven, and takes pride in local decision-making, relationship banking, and helping businesses succeed for the long game. The team is small, close-knit, and works together like family.

Responsibilities

Develop and manage a commercial loan portfolio with an annual production goal of ~$10MM.

Build full banking relationships with local businesses, including loans, deposits, and treasury services.

Source new business through COIs, referrals, and community involvement.

Structure, underwrite, and close a variety of commercial loans, including CRE, C&I, SBA, and construction.

Maintain strong credit quality while delivering responsive, relationship-driven service.

Qualifications

3–5 years of commercial lending or credit experience preferred; strong up-and-comers and seasoned lenders will be considered if cultural fit is right.

Solid credit acumen and knowledge of commercial loan structures.

Relationship-driven personality with a passion for community banking.

Team-oriented, collaborative, and willing to wear many hats.
